Thanks for the comment Matt. We'll have more on sleep 'paralysis' in the next article. It can be uncomfortable, but it also presents a unique opportunity.

Hello, I have all the necessary supplements to lucid dream, but I am a little anxious to actually try it because I've heard that sleep paralysis can occur in some people while they lucid dream or when they try to wake up. The concept of sleep paralysis, or being stuck in a lucid nightmare, really terrifies me. Is there anything I can do to prevent these adverse side effects? Thank you

Hi Devon,

You probably shouldn't take b6 at the same time as 5-HTP; there's evidence that this may catalyze serotonin production in the gut rather than the brain. You want to give 5-HTP time to get across the blood brain barrier so serotonin can be synthesized directly in the brain.

We have, however, had some interesting results with B6 and Tryptophan, a precursor to 5-HTP (e.g. a glass of milk) and some success with earlier experiments that combined this with aspirin, which makes the blood brain barrier temporarily more permeable.
